Erika K. Anderson

​Erika is a widely recognized industry leader with two decades of experience facilitating successful carbon investments, having supported more than 150 projects valued at over USD 2 billion. A dual-licensed environmental attorney, she brings deep expertise in carbon asset management, trading, regulatory compliance and high-integrity market design. She currently leads commercial structuring, risk management and legal functions at Earthshot Labs, a globally recognized carbon project development partner. Previously, she served as Partner and  Head of Commercial Structuring & Risk Management at Environmental Resources Management (ERM) Climate Markets, where she advised on complex transactions across voluntary and pre-compliance carbon markets, including matters related to ICVCM and Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

Over the course of her career, Erika has operated at the intersection of law, finance, and environmental impact. She launched the largest U.S. carbon reforestation initiative and has advised on global nature-based solutions spanning forests, bamboo, clean cookstoves​ and methane abatement projects. She has worked extensively with carbon and forestry funds, guided multinational corporations on integrity-driven carbon procurement strategies and supported developers in delivering durable, high-quality climate projects. Her expertise extends to nuanced legal and structural aspects of carbon markets, including FPIC, community benefit-sharing frameworks, land tenure, carbon rights, chain of title and collateralization structures. 

She also brings experience in compliance, software licensing and data privacy and security, enabling her to manage complex, cross-cutting risks across legal, commercial and environmental domains. Erika has served as a partner at the​ as General Counsel to pioneering natural climate solutions companies​ such as Climate Impact Partners, and as a board advisor and legal strategist to environmental certification bodies. A frequent international speaker, she provides real-time insights on carbon finance, risk management, and evolving carbon trading frameworks.
