
Manvendra is a climate law and sustainability professional with a strong academic foundation in environmental governance, international law and regulatory policy. He has developed a focused expertise at the intersection of climate change law, sustainability regulation and emerging governance frameworks.
His work has consistently centered on climate governance, environmental regulation and international legal mechanisms, earning international recognition, including winning the International Energy Essay Competition and receiving the Silver Award at the International Essay Competition organized by the Climate Law and Governance Initiative at UNFCCC COP-28 in Abu Dhabi. He also served as a Rapporteur at UNFCCC COP-27 and has actively engaged in global climate law and governance discussions associated with UNFCCC COP-28. His participation in international legal forums, including representation at the Law Society of England & Wales, reflects his engagement with transnational climate and regulatory discourse.
In addition to his research profile, Manvendra previously served as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at Climatability, a specialized sustainability and decarbonization advisory firm supporting businesses, governments and organizations in navigating carbon markets, climate policy, ESG compliance and green technology adoption, including initiatives for Indian MSMEs. In this leadership role, he drove strategic vision and growth across advisory verticals, overseeing long-term business strategy aligned with evolving sustainability imperatives and market trends.
His work focused on designing and implementing decarbonisation strategies, renewable energy integration, carbon pricing and trading frameworks, and financially viable sustainability models grounded in risk assessment and investment analysis. He developed practical expertise in operationalising climate policy and carbon market mechanisms within real-world regulatory and business contexts. Additionally, he has engaged with artificial intelligence and blockchain governance projects, examining their regulatory implications and applications for transparency, digital MRV systems, and compliance integrity within environmental markets.
He serves as the Policy and Research Lead at the Emissions Trading Association of India (ETAI), where he anchors the Association’s work on emissions trading systems, carbon market design, and regulatory analysis. At ETAI, he leads research initiatives, develops policy briefs, and supports institutional dialogue on compliance and voluntary carbon market frameworks aligned with India’s climate commitments and market-based approaches under the Paris Agreement. His work bridges legal scholarship, market strategy, and regulatory design, contributing to the structured development of India’s emerging carbon market ecosystem.
